WHY DON'T WE OFFER FREE RETURNS?

Modified on Thu, 6 Jul, 2023 at 1:39 PM

Oh we wish we could!

We are a small rural company based in the north of Scotland, on the edge of the Highlands.

Due to the obscure ways that UK trade is structured, shipping couriers are allowed to penalise us for this location - despite Great Scot HQ being located within a town, on a major road, barely 45 miles from an international airport and the third largest city in Scotland: Aberdeen. - Often billed as the 'Oil Capital of Europe'.

But, every shipment that travels both to and from us is charged at a premium.

Despite these challenges, we are very proud that we are able to find ways to circumvent these needless penalties, and we have many very happy customers all around the globe as testament to our approach. Further, we always subsidise our packing and shipping and find ways to add free gifts and thoughtful personal touches.

At the moment, us offering free returns would push up the prices of our items across the range for everyone. We don't think it's fair to raise prices for everybody when we have such a very low rate of returns.

We so hope you agree and you'll let us make this up to you in all the other ways we can think to.

*This 'Postcode Penalty' in Scotland is actively being campaigned and debated by our trade bodies and political representatives. We hope that one day soon, people and businesses in rural Scotland won't be discriminated against in this way any longer.
